The Derbies

There are three kinds of Derbies that Pack 124 does each year: Pinewood Derby, Space Derby, and Rain-gutter Regatta.

The Pinewood Derby is perhaps the most widely known special event of the Cub Scouts.  It is the event that the boys look forward to all year.  The boys build there own car from a kit, decorate it, and then race against each other.

The Space Derby allows the boys to have fun building ships that look like space craft and racing them.

The Rain-gutter Regatta is a summer derby where the boys build small boats with sails and then race them down a rain-gutter filled with water.  The boats are powered by the boys blowing into the sails.

All the races are open to all Tigers, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts registered in Pack 124.
